Information security and trust
Overview
As information technology (IT) continues to reach into every corner of our lives, the digital age also raises serious concerns about information security. The most vital sectors of our economy - manufacturing, telecommunication, banking and finance, transportation and emergency service - are potentially susceptible to disruptions by individual and organised hackers and cyber terrorists. There is an imperative need for more research in information security.
Information security is like a chain, where its strength equals to that of the weakest link. We a holistic approach to security research, from cryptographic techniques, algorithms, security protocols, data security, to intrusion detections. In addition to explore the state-of-the-art security techniques, we study how information security technology can be applied to address the security needs of various IT systems and applications.
We believe that information security is not only bought for protection, it is also a business enabler. We investigate enterprise security and secure e-commerce solutions which enable and nurture customer relationship and even bring new ways of doing business.
