Synopsis

Can social networking – as evident in popular sites like Orkut and Facebook – be leveraged in a company or in an educational institution? We will seek answers to this question by looking at a unique platform that is in use today.

About the speaker

Dr Prithwis MUKERJEE is an engineer from IIT, Kharagpur and has then done his MS and PhD in Management Science from the University of Texas at Dallas, USA.

He has been in the Information Technology business for almost 18 years and has worked in Tata Steel, Tata IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Consulting and IBM Global Services. At PwC he was a partner in the eBusiness practice and in IBM he was an Executive Director and headed the Global Delivery Centre at Calcutta, India.

Prithwis is currently the Professor and Head of Research at Praxis Business School, Calcutta and is also an adjunct faculty at the School of Management at IIT Kharagpur. He has a strong interest in Enterprise Architecture and is currently working to understand how to integrate Web 2.0 concepts and construct into a commercial environment.
