Enterprise Grid Architect Certification Program
CITREP approved - up to 50% off course fee 1. Introduction Click here for information on Lab Exercises See some photos of our lab facilities. Grid computing optimizes IT resource management by pooling computational resources to create a unified virtual computing environment that abstracts away resource boundaries present in traditional computing infrastructures. The Enterprise Grid Architect certification course covers grid technology from practical industrial perspectives, as well as from essential foundation concepts. In the virtualized environment enabled by grid-based systems, computational load can be transparently distributed, resulting in dependable, consistent, pervasive and inexpensive access to these resources on an on-demand, as-needed basis. Because of its significant potential to scale IT environments, grid computing is becoming the architectural strategy of choice for enterprises across industry and governments. Grid computing is also an increasingly prevalent architectural strategy for implementing modern application interconnection mechanisms such as Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). Targeted at experienced software and systems architects who need to understand and take advantage of modern application grid technologies, the certification is awarded by Singapore Management University (SMU) and supported by Oracle Singapore and the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA). The content of this pioneering certification programme is based on curriculum contributed by SMU and Oracle University. This certification course has been endorsed by IDA under the CITREP programme and is a joint collaboration between SMU and Oracle Singapore. It has also been approved by the National Grid Office as an elective under the Grid Computing Competency Certification (GCCC). Successful participants will be awarded four credit points under the "Grid Architecture (Advanced)" category for the Grid Architect Track of the GCCC Part 2 . Module 1 - Introduction to Grid Computing Module 2 - Application Grids Module 3 - Creating Application Grids (Lab exercises)
Anindya Datta, Visiting Associate Professor, SMU. Anindya is a technologist with significant experience in both academia and industry. He received his PhD from the University of Maryland, College Park, and was Associate Professor at Georgia Tech before embarking on a successful entrepreneurial career where he commercialized his research in the context of a venture-funded software company that he eventually sold to a large global technology organization. Anindya is widely recognized as having contributed fundamentally to a few of the key ideas in the areas of database and application systems. In his most recent work, he has also contributed heavily to the evolution of application performance and virtualization technologies, including pioneering the area of application layer object storage that is now widely recognized as a core functionality of any object-oriented application, as well as a core technology enabler of application virtualization mechanisms. This work was performed at Georgia Tech, from where Anindya started Chutney Technologies to commercialize this work. Chutney was subsequently backed by tier-1 VCs, contributed to the development of the area of application virtualization and was subsequently folded into a large Bay-area technological organization. Mohit Singh, Core Technology Team Leader, Oracle University . Mohit has over 12 years of experience as trainer, consultant and developer with Oracle technologies. His expertise includes Oracle Database, TimesTen, Application Server, Developer Suite, Collaboration Suite and Fusion Middleware products. Mohit was the first instructor to deliver Oracle Application Server 10g training to customers in Asia-Pacific and has handled customer engagements across different Oracle technologies in Asia Pacific including POSCO (South Korea), SSS (Philippines), Asian Development Bank (Philippines), Royal Brunei Airlines (Brunei), Brunei Shell (Brunei), NIC (India), DOT (India), ITE (Singapore), Citibank (Singapore), GIC (Singapore), GE Life (Singapore), Ministry of Education (Australia), CISRA (Australia) and Hutchison (Australia). Mohit has a degree in accountancy. Mok Heng Ngee, Instructional Staff, SMU. Mok supports this course and contributes to the preparation of course materials. His academic interests include enterprise integration and architecture, and his technical expertise spans both the Java and .NET worlds. Mok was accorded Most Valuable Professional status by Microsoft, and is a Sun Certified Enterprise Architect. He has a M.Sc. in Communications Software and Networks.
