Andrew BUTCHER
Managing Director, Head of Operations and Technology, Asia Pacific Citi Markets and Banking

Mr. Andrew Butcher joined Salomon Brothers, a predecessor firm of Citigroup, in London in 1988. He held various positions in the firm's Operations and Strategic Planning divisions in London and Tokyo before relocating to Hong Kong in 1992. As Business Unit Manager of Salomon Brothers' Asia Pacific Investment Banking division he was responsible for establishing many of the firm's regional operations, including Beijing, Bangkok, Delhi, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. He was appointed Director, Business Planning and Administration in 1997, Chief Administrative Officer in 1999 and Managing Director in 2000, responsible for regional management of all Salomon Smith Barney Asia Pacific infrastructure, including Finance, Operations, Technology, Human Resources, Corporate Services and Public Affairs.

In March 2003 Mr. Butcher was appointed Head of Operations and Technology for Citi Markets and Banking (“CMB”) in Asia Pacific. In this role he is responsible for CMB Operations in 16 countries, regional processing centers in Penang, Kuala Lumpur , Shanghai , Singapore and Sydney and the CMB Technology development organizations in Singapore , Hong Kong , Australia and India . He is a member of the CMB Asia Pacific Operating and Management Committees and the Global Information Technology Leadership Council. He chairs the Asia Technology Leadership Council and is also a director and member of the Customer Advisory Council of Citigroup Global Services Ltd, Citigroup's Indian BPO subsidiary. In July 2005 he was appointed to the Singapore Quality Award Governing Council and in May 2006 became a Patron of the Singapore Productivity Association.

Mr. Butcher was born in London and holds an MA degree from Cambridge University . In January 2004 he relocated from Hong Kong to Singapore , where he currently resides with his wife and two daughters.

Mr. Steve Ingram is Vice President and Managing Director, EDS South East Asia overseeing the company’s core lines of business in IT infrastructure services, Business Process Outsourcing and application solutions.

In addition, Ingram leads our Financial Industry group in Asia. He is responsible for developing and driving industry-specific solutions that address client challenges and issues.

Until July 2006, Ingram was Global Head of Technology and Operations and Chief Information Officer at DBS Bank, managing over 3000 staff and with responsibility for management of technology, operations, sourcing, real estate and administration for the group globally, reporting to the CEO.

His major accountabilities included delivering end-to-end business process transformation, and managing the portfolio of business change programs. Ingram acted as Chair of the Bank’s Project Council and Outsourcing Supervisory Committee. Ingram was a member of the Management Committee responsible for setting strategy, prioritizing resources and driving higher returns to shareholders.

His key accomplishments included:

  • Building an award-winning services oriented architecture
  • Centralizing, standardizing and regionalizing core operational processes
  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive sourcing strategy and process, including a ten-year IT outsourcing relationship
  • Successfully integrating a major acquisition
  • Leading a major selection process for a new core banking solution for the Bank
  • Deploying standard application platforms across the region

During his tenure with DBS, Ingram was a member of the Board of Directors of DBS Vickers Securities Online Holdings Pte Ltd and Network for Electronic Transfers (Singapore) Pte Ltd. Ingram was also a member of the IBM Global Board of Advisors, the Advisory Board of FT Ventures, a US-based financial technology venture capital firm and remains an Advisory Board Member of the Singapore Management University School of Information Systems.

Prior to joining DBS, Ingram held CIO roles in telecommunications and consumer finance in the USA. Prior to taking up the CIO role, he was a partner in the technology consulting practice of Ernst & Young. He has worked across the globe in the UK, US, Europe and Asia.

Ingram is a well-known speaker and commentator on technology issues in banking and was recently awarded the 2005 Technology in Banking Achievement Award by the Asian Banker.
Ingram is married with two children and resides in Singapore.


Mr. Venky KRISHNAKUMAR

Mr. Venky Krishnakumar was for most of his career with Citigroup (31 years) where he was Chief Operating and Chief Financial Officer for Citibank’s Global Consumer Bank, Asia Pacific Region till his retirement in 2005. His job responsibilities covered the Groups Operation and Technology, Financial and Treasury Management across Asia and included a global role at managing the transition of Citi’s work to low cost centers. Also, he worked with Mckinsey & Company as a Senior Advisor in their Business Technology practice between 2005 and 2006. He served as Senior Advisor to Barclays Bank Plc between August 2006 and May 2008. He has rejoined Mckinsey & Company as a Senior Advisor since July 2008.

He sits on the board of ST Engineering a public listed company, Singapore Computer Services and The Cental Depository Ltd (a subsidiary of SGX). He has served on several boards previously:

He is a Singaporean and lives here with his wife Aditi. They have two children.

Girija PANDE

Mr. Girija P Pande is Executive VP and the Head-Asia Pacific of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and currently based in Singapore, the TCS HQ for Asia Pacific. TCS is one of Asia 's largest IT Company with over USD 3 Billion in revenue and over 85,000 software consultants based in 35 countries. Mr. Pande is the Chairman of TCS Asia Pacific Pte Ltd – a Singapore registered holding company which has a IHQ status awarded by EDB Singapore. In this role, he oversees TCS business in 13 Asia Pacific countries including Greater China, Japan, ASEAN, South Korea and Australia/New Zealand. He is also the Vice Chairman of TCS' joint venture subsidiary in China with Chinese Government and Microsoft.

Mr Pande is the Steering committee member of Singapore Government's (IE) - Network India Group and also the Director of VSNL International Singapore Pte Ltd. Mr. Pande is also a Council Member of Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore – a high-powered Infocomm Manpower Council of the Government.

Prior to this he was a banker with ANZ Grindlays Banking Group, for 25 years and has extensive experience in commercial, retail and investment banking throughout Asia, including senior postings in Korea, Hong Kong, Bahrain and India. Most recently he was Executive Chairman of the ANZ Grindlays Asset Management Company, where he introduced financial planning for retail investors, bank assurance and oversaw the launch of the largest ever debt fund IPO in India in 2000.

Mr. Pande has been on many high level policy planning committees of the Reserve Bank of India, Indian Institute of Banking and has served on the Executive Management Committees of All India Chambers of Commerce such as ASSOCHAM and Bombay Chamber. Mr. Pande is well known in India and Asia within the financial and IT sector and has wide ranging contacts in Asian industry.


Mrs. TENG Soon Lang

Mrs. Teng Soon Lang is an Executive Vice President at OCBC Bank Group, heading the Group Quality & Process Innovation Division. She is responsible for building a group-wide quality culture as well as working with Business Heads to deliver substantial margin improvements through process innovation.

Prior to her promotion as EVP, Soon Lang was the Group CIO, working in partnership with business colleagues to deliver numerous strategic systems as well as driving the merger integration.

Mrs. Teng is a member of the Board of Directors for e2Power Pte Ltd, Banking Computer Services Pte Ltd and BCS Information System Pte Ltd in Singapore. She is also the Deputy Chairman on the Board of Symphony BCSIS Sdn Bhd in Malaysia.

Prior to her appointment in OCBC, she headed the program for Executive Education at the Institute of Systems Science (ISS), National University of Singapore. During part of her tenure at ISS, she was concurrently holding the position of Director of Information Systems at the National University Hospital.

Mrs. Teng holds a Master Degree in Computer Science & Information System and a Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) from the National University of Singapore, in addition to her Post Graduate Qualification from the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants, UK.
