SMU students Nadiah Mis'ari [ School of Social Sciences ] and Ahmad Firdaus Daud [ School of Information Systems ] are part of a 25-student theatre group working with 35 students from Jamiyah Business School under the Mendaki Max programme. They will perform the traditional Malay opera, Sultan Temasek Sultan Melayu, at the Lee Foundation Theatre, NAFA, on Saturday and Sunday.

A master first for SMU
SMU is the first local university to roll out a new master's degree programme to groom talent for the growing financial services industry. The pioneer batch of 22 postgraduate students embarked on the inaugural Master of IT in Business (Financial Services) course. SIS dean Professor Steven Miller said: "A unique aspect of this programme is that it is co-designed and co-delivered with financial services organisations and the supporting vendor community. These deep connections with the industry mean that the curriculum will always be relevant and responsive to emerging trends."

SMU SIS and The Indian School of Business, in Hyderabad, have signed an agreement to conduct joint research in information systems, along with annual workshops and research seminars.
