Participation in Oracle's s Academic Initiative

In 2007, SMU SIS was the first university in Asia to enroll in Oracle Academy's innovative shared software offering that gives students the opportunity to learn about complex enterprise business applications and processes utilising the Oracle E-Business suite.

"Oracle's innovative approach to expose School of Information Systems undergraduates to 21st century learning goes beyond rote learning and into real-world business enironments. Seeing industry solution and how business processes are implemented will help students envision how major organizations stay competitive by blazing the technology trial."

SMU SIS is in discussions with Oracle to introduce an enterprise-class human capital management software into  the curriculum.

Data Warehousing and Business Analytics

In 2007, SIS was the first unversity programme world-wide to make use of Oracle's Retail Business Intelligence Accelerator Data Model as part of our SIS elective course on Data Warehousing & Business Analytics. In 2008, Oracle will continue to partner with SIS to explore innovative ways of integrating data management, business analytics, and business solutions.
