SIS Bachelors-CMU Masters Fast-Track Programme

Fast-Track moving forward quickly....

Our first 3 students have completed their term at Carnegie Mellon.  They have survived the cold, a week trip to New York city and come out with great success.  The even managed to cook a dinner for the program coordinator during a visit to CMU.  All three will be starting the Master of Information Systems Management program at Carnegie Mellon's Heinz school in August.

“It was a delight to have the first three SMU - CMU fast trackers with us during the spring semester of 2007 as they finished the requirements for their BSc degrees. Their course work at SMU prepared them well for the demands of the Carnegie Mellon curriculum. They thrived nicely in CMU courses and I'm confident they will be very successful in their Master's degree studies and beyond.

It was also great to get to know these students better as individuals. We did a number of things together, including a visit to the world-class Pittsburgh Glass Center, where we observed some amazing glass blowing demonstrations, and made our own glass flowers.”

We have 2 third year students who will be going to CMU in January.  Additionally several in-progress students applied for the National Infocomm Scholarship and are completing company interviews.  Those selected will add to the pair heading to Pittsburgh in January.

Additionally we have 4 fast-track students who have just completed their first year at SMU.  This is our first batch to commence their studies as fast-track students so we are eagerly observing their great success now and to come.

Entering students are going through interviews now and we hope to get even more students into the programme!

The M.Sc. (Information Systems) degree is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the specializations of data management and information retrieval, information security, and intelligent decision support systems.

This program is ideal for:
