In conjunction with this event, SMU's School of Information Systems hosts an Academic Forum that brings together some of the great international speakers that are in town to address the iX Conference, and makes this event available for free to students and faculty.

The theme of iX2006 Conference is "ICT at Work - Collaboration and Peer-to-Peer Technologies". Instant messaging, Internet telephony, wikis, blogs and applications on demand. Many organizations are struggling to integrate these tools into the computing environment and daily workflow, and there is an ongoing concern about possible security issues and productivity loss.

This year's iX Conference will explore how collaboration tools and peer-to-peer consumer technologies are transforming the enterprise.
