To teach computer-based analytical business modeling
Singapore Management University

The School of Information Systems (SIS)
was launched in 2003 to extend SMU’s mission into the
realm of business-focused information technology. The SIS
education and research environment benefits from the strong
partnership with Carnegie Mellon, as well as from the existing
collaboration between the Wharton School and the SMU Lee
Kong Chian School of Business.
SMU is committed to innovative and high
quality pedagogy. Candidates must fulfil the following criteria:
Capable of designing and delivering
an undergraduate course in analytical business modeling using
the Excel spreadsheet.
This course also explores the creative
use of the personal computer to facilitate and support the
link-up of the business executive to the Internet and other
information resources.
Ability to relate
analytical business modeling to real problems in a key
industry sector such as financial services, supply chain & logistics services,
manufacturing, health & medical services, etc;
A PhD in a related business or IT
discipline from an internationally recognized university;
An outstanding record of participating
in leading-edge applications that impact business practice;
A good track record of professionally relevant publications
in applied magazines or conferences; and
Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred.
