Synopsis

Businesses are increasingly dependent on IT. Operations and Technology departments are being merged to ensure that IT is aligned with business goals. It is no longer sufficient to be a good programmer. IT professionals are expected to be skilled in design of innovative applications, well versed with project management principles, and capable of creating business value using IT.

Students trained in Business IT skills give themselves a significant head start in life. They create for themselves multiple career options. They could work for a large end-user company either as a business analyst or in the IT function and pursue the dream of becoming a Chief Information officer. They could join an IT Services company and go on to become a CEO. They can also start innovative companies along the lines of Google^R and YouTube^R. They could join a consulting company and rise to become a Managing Partner. They could cross over from technology to business role after some experience.
