Synopsis

Organisations today operate in an increasingly dynamic environment where continuing improvements are required in the quest for increasing organisational effectiveness. IT plays a central role in the effectiveness of any modern business. More and more reliance is placed on IS/IT in order to help organisations achieve their strategic objectives and goals.

The SMRT IT Department envisioned gaining the ability to adapt quickly to changing business conditions and to deliver business benefits using IT. Hence, IT is to recalibrate, evolve and transform, to be a strategic partner and business enabler to meet SMRT goal as the Premier Multi Modal Public Transport Service.

Several strategic goals that will assist in overhauling SMRT IT to achieve greater performance and importance within the organization through IT/Business value alignment, IT operational excellence attainment and continuous process improvement and growth will be discussed.
