Stewart Carmichael is Managing Director and Chief Administrative Officer of Merrill Lynch Global Services Pte. Ltd. (MLGS). A global engine of Merrill Lynch (ML), MLGS operates in partnership with other ML Global Service Centres in Camberley, Dublin and Jacksonville to deliver world-class solutions and services for all operational activities of ML's clients, products and processes worldwide.

As MD and CAO of MLGS, Stewart is responsible for coordinating the management of all of the center's activities. Key areas of responsibility include developing a sustainable growth strategy; recruiting, training and retaining a staff with world-class skills; and ensuring the smooth delivery of technology and operational services to Global Markets & Investment Banking, Global Wealth Management, Global Technology Infrastructure, Global Business Technology, Leadership & Talent Management and clients.

In addition to his current role as MD and CAO of MLGS, Stewart is also Head of Pacific Rim Business Technology where he is responsible for leading the regional Business Technology team, in partnership with the Global Business Technology heads, with the objective of delivering seamless execution capabilities across the region. 

Stewart joined MLGS in September 2007 from London where he was most recently co-head for ML Technology for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, focusing on Global Technology Infrastructure areas. In that role, he was responsible for supporting 10,000 users supplying Data Centre, Network, Market Data and End User Services. Stewart joined Merrill Lynch in 1993and has held a number of leadership positions, including Head of EMEA/Pac Rim MLIM Technology, Global Head of Technology and Application Services and Head of US Business Technology Services.

Stewart is a graduate of the University of Hertfordshire .
