Synopsis

RGM International, with head office in Singapore, is a diversified Asia Pacific business group with business interest spanning several industries including pulp and paper, oil palm, engineering, construction and infrastructure. The Group has operations in Singapore, Indonesia, China, Hongkong, Philippines, Malaysia and Finland.

RGM Internations is now one of the leading industrial groups in Asia Pacific wirh assets in excess of US$6 billion and a skilled workforce of over 56,000. It owns the world's largest pulp mill, Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper in Sumatra.

Mr Goh Lin Piao, Group CIO of RGMI, will share with us the role of IT in the operations of a global resource based group of companies, where operations are 24 x 7.

About the Speaker

The guest speaker is Mr. Goh Lin Piao, Group CIO of RGM International. He is responsible for Business Transformation as well as Information Technology for the RGM group. The Group's main businesses are in pulp & paper, oil palm, engineering services, construction and infrastructure. The group consists of over 55,000 personnel operating from diverse countries such as China, Brazil, Finland and Indonesia.

Prior to joining RGMI, Mr. Goh was a partner in Accenture, where he held a variety of positions including lead for the Singapore Government practice and lead for Greater China Government practice. Mr. Goh has been active in the community and was Chairman of the Certification Resource Panel, which oversees the National IT Skills Certification Programme administered by the Singapore Computer Society. He graduated from the University of New South Wales with a degree in Computer Science and top honours in Mechanical Engineering.
